Well look at handsome Mr. Grayson – he is 9 months old and oh so much fun!
I have been photographing this handsome guy since our newborn session was just a few days old. I’ve had such an amazing time capturing this little guy as he grows. We headed to one of my favorite mini-session locations for our shoot, and had a great time enjoying his sweet smiles and adorable expressions. I just can’t wait to see him again for his first birthday portraits – I know that if there’s a cake smash involved, we’re in for some major fun!
Photographing babies in their first year is so much fun for me… they grow so incredibly fast, and hit so many milestones during that first year. Following babies since birth, I typically find that setting up a mini session every three months is so important in order to document the development and growth that baby is going through. As a newborn, infants typically sleep for most of the session, allowing me to capture their small and moldable bodies, comfy as they were in the womb. At three months, baby can hold his or her head up and hold a sincere smile as we do a mix of prop-posed and lifestyle shots. At 6 months, baby is typically sitting on his or her own, or with a bit of assistance. At 9 months, baby is generally standing with assistance, crawling, and wanting to explore the world however he or she can get around. At one year, baby is typically learning to walk, explore, and celebrate the milestone of going through all of that development… so we celebrate with cake!
