Mini Newborn Photography Session

Amaya’s Mini Newborn Photography Session was quick and fun!  This sweet girl came by the studio this week for her mini newborn session, and her parents did awesome in preparing her for our short time together.  I always provide preparation instructions for parents so that we can make the most of our time together, and truly appreciate when babies arrive perfectly prepared.  Mini newborn sessions are a very condensed and super quick version of my full newborn sessions.  They are one hour long (as opposed to three hours) and during that time, we work quickly and efficiently to achieve the best poses we can.  Babies are so unpredictable that I can never guarantee that they have the best chances of sleeping so that we can get into intricate posing.  Some babies take half of our session getting into a good sleep, some are awake and alert for the session, and some are zonked out for the entirety of our session.  Most poses are achieved when babies are in a deeper sleep.  Fingers are relaxed, muscles just melt into the poses I mold newborns into and then the magic happens 🙂  Sweet Amaya came prepared – fully fed, early arrival so that she could get used to the temperature and new surroundings, pacifier in hand just in case… ready to go!  Anyhow, here are just a few of the images from our mini newborn session in the studio:
