Ready for some newborn cuteness ahead? Meet sweet baby Bijoux! This beautiful girl was such a sweet pea to photograph and to hang out with a couple of weeks ago. I have had a bunch of handsome baby boys to photograph lately, so baby Bijoux gave me the opportunity to take my baby girl headbands and props out again. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE photographing all newborns, but it’s always great to have a girl after 3975879236 boys photographed… ok I may be exaggerating on that figure, but still 🙂
We had a great morning at the studio, hanging out with mommy and baby Bijoux. Our session was during that super duper hot week we had in San Diego just a couple of weeks ago. Out of habit, I turned on our heater to a warm and baby cozy 85 degrees, then placed the newborn heat blower next to the beanbag as I was setting up for our session. Before baby girl even arrived, I was pretty much drenched in sweat, lol… so both heaters were turned off, and we worked to the natural heat of the day. I always joke that when I come home from my newborn sessions, I feel like I have just completed 3 hours of hot yoga… it’s a hot room, and I often have to hold funny poses to get the right angles on my babies… especially when they are about to smile and I don’t want to miss it. Why so hot during a newborn session? Well, it always seems ‘hotter’ for us adults, because we are clothed, which obviously keeps us warmer to begin with, but my newborns are always undressed, and to keep them from getting an uncomfortable chill, the warmth of the temperature keeps them happy, sleepy and comfortable. Having a full belly of milk and a nice, warm room sure work miracles in keeping baby satisfied during our session 🙂
Here are some of my favorite shots from our newborn session… enjoy!
