Awww, this sweet newborn already stole my heart before she was born when her mama told me her name was going to be Sophie… clearly an excellent name choice for a baby girl! I met mama C a couple of years ago when she just had her first sweet baby, Nicholas. This sweet family lives a couple of hours away, so I was so thrilled when mama C offered me the opportunity to photograph her 2nd baby girl during her time in San Diego!
Baby Sophie was such a sweetie. She did great – slept well and enjoyed being swaddled and moved into different poses. It was also so fun to see how much her big brother has grown! It’s sometimes difficult to get a sweet boy his age to lay down with a new sibling long enough to snap a quick photo of the two of them together, which is always a special shot for parents. Nicholas did great! I may have had to make some questionable faces, but he thought they were funny – mission accomplished 🙂
In other news, just days after we shot this session in our amazing studio, a truck backed in to the fire hydrant right in front of the studio building, causing 2 feet of water to accumulate on top of the building, which flooded most of the suites in our building… luckily, no one was harmed, and my personal/photography belongings are just fine, but the studio is currently under repair, as they are replacing the drywall, flooring and ceilings to fix the water damage that occurred as a result of the flood. We will be out of the studio for the next couple of weeks, and in the meantime, I am definitely still booking and holding sessions in alternate locations. This is temporary, and I can’t wait to get back into our sweet, revamped studio in just a short while.
